Our definition of sustainability

The term sustainability is omnipresent these days and almost everyone uses it.

Because one thing is clear: sustainability and resource-saving production is and will become increasingly important!

However, there is no really precise definition of when a company can call its products sustainable. But of course we are also concerned about sustainability.

We manufacture our bags according to the principle of durability.

Durable canvas craftsmanship

We manufacture our bags with the conviction that they should last a long time. Every production process requires energy and raw materials, which is why we attach great importance to ensuring that all components are durable. Not only the canvas, but also all other components are designed with this in mind.

Our high-quality zippers are made by YKK, a leading company in this field. We also use special UV-coated yarn and webbing that comes from a German weaving mill and is OEKO-TEX® Class 1 certified – this means free of harmful substances, skin-friendly and nature-friendly. They are also available in many cool colors!

We have designed the bag sizes so that there is as little waste as possible during production in order to make optimum use of resources.

Developed from the idea of optimizing the use of resources

Over 40 years ago, master sailmaker Ulrich Labhart had the idea of turning leftovers from sailmaking into bags. The material has great properties and is used to its full potential – an approach that we are still pursuing today.

We offer you bags that you can use for a long time. Their longevity makes them loyal companions with whom you can experience many small and big adventures and collect memories.

Your individual, sustainable bag

Your bag should be as individual as you are! That’s why we focus on your color preferences and avoid an excessive number of ready-made combinations. This saves resources. Of course, we also have some ready-made combinations for you, which you can find here.

Whether pencil cases, toiletry bags, sports bags or large travel bags – with us, everything is freely configurable and lovingly handcrafted directly on site in our small sailmaking workshop. This is how we ensure that your canvas bag is produced fairly and sustainably.
