Canvas Messenger Bag L: Maximum Storage, Slim Silhouette

Our messenger bag in size L is the largest of our shoulder bags, made for anyone who carries a lot every day: laptop, files, notebooks and everything else the day adds. At approx. 10 litres it offers the most room in the range, yet its 10 cm depth keeps it flat and close to the body. Made from hard-wearing Persenning canvas in our sailmaking workshop in Kiel.

Benefits:

Room for a laptop up to 15 inches and more

An internal width of approx. 40 cm accommodates a laptop up to 15 inches, along with several folders, a notepad and A4 documents lying flat. A camera with a second lens fits too. Because the bag is deliberately made without padding, we recommend a dedicated sleeve for a laptop or camera – that keeps the bag light while your equipment stays protected.

Plenty of volume without looking like a backpack

Ten litres covers a long day, and the L still remains a messenger bag: flat, clean-edged, and opening from the top without needing a second hand. If you cannot decide between a backpack and a bag, this is the compromise that keeps the access.

Everything open in one movement

The flap closes with a hook-and-loop fastener. It opens in a single motion, so even with a full bag you keep an overview instead of groping through a narrow zip opening. Opening and closing works one-handed – including when your other hand is holding the coffee.

Open inner pocket for flat items

An open inner pocket runs across the entire width, approx. 20 cm high. On a bag this size that is exactly what matters: documents, a tablet or a notebook stay divided and do not slide underneath everything else when you shoulder the bag.

Rear outer pocket with hook-and-loop closure

The pocket on the back panel spans the full width and stands approx. 20 cm high, closed with a hook-and-loop fastener. It is the place for whatever you need in between, without opening the main flap – and it rests protected against your body while you carry.

Strap up to 160 cm, fully adjustable

The 40 mm webbing strap adjusts smoothly up to approx. 160 cm. With a fully loaded bag it pays to wear it short: the bag then sits at your hip, stays steady as you walk and puts less strain on your shoulder. The 40 mm width spreads the weight so nothing digs in, even without padding.

Persenning canvas that carries a load

Persenning canvas is water-repellent, extra UV-resistant and extraordinarily tear-proof – the properties sailmaking demands. On a bag that is loaded heavily every day, that pays off twice over: the fabric does not stretch, it keeps rain out, and it wipes clean with a damp cloth.

Your colours, your bag

You choose the main panel from a selected range of colours and put all remaining parts and the shoulder strap together freely from our full colour range. Quiet and single-toned, nautically accented, or with a strap that deliberately stands out – you decide in the configurator.

Even more depth available

If 10 cm of depth is not enough for what you carry, we adjust it – to 15 cm for instance, which on this footprint adds a substantial amount of volume. Select the option directly in the configurator and the price updates immediately.

Handmade in Germany

Like all our bags, the L is made in our sailmaking workshop in Kiel and crafted there by hand. We put particular care into the points that carry the load, so the bag lasts for years.
