Canvas Messenger Bag XS: Compact Carry for Everything That Always Comes Along

Our messenger bag in size XS is made for the days when you only want the essentials with you: phone, wallet, keys and a notebook. It sits close to the body, barely draws attention, and opens with one hand. Made from hard-wearing Persenning canvas, crafted by hand in our sailmaking workshop in Kiel.

Exactly right for the essentials

At approx. 5 litres, the XS takes what goes with you every day: phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses and an A5 notebook. For a walk through town, a concert or a ride on the bike, you need nothing more – and because nothing surplus comes along, the bag stays light and lies flat against your body.

Open and close with one hand

A hook-and-loop closure is the fastest fastening a bag can have: lift the flap, reach in, press it shut – one-handed and without looking. No zip that jams, no clasp to hunt for. That is exactly the point of a messenger bag: you get to your things without stopping.

Open inner pocket for small items

Inside the main compartment sits an open pocket running the full width, approx. 15 cm high. It keeps cards, headphones or keys separate from everything else, so you do not have to feel around the bottom of the bag every time.

Outer pocket on the back

A second pocket sits on the back panel, full width and approx. 15 cm high, also closed with a hook-and-loop fastener. Your ticket, phone or shopping list rests there right against your body, within reach without opening the main flap.

Fully adjustable shoulder strap

The strap is made from 40 mm wide webbing and adjusts smoothly up to approx. 160 cm. That lets you carry the bag exactly as it suits you: short at the hip so it does not swing while walking or cycling, or long across the body. At this volume the bag is deliberately made without padding, which keeps it flat and light.

Hard-wearing Persenning canvas

We make the messenger bag from Persenning canvas, a marine-grade sailcloth. The fabric is water-repellent, extra UV-resistant and exceptionally tear-proof, because it is built to survive wind and weather out on the water. On a bag that is out every day, that means it holds its shape, wipes clean with a damp cloth and does not fade.

Your colour combination

In the configurator you put the bag together yourself. A selected range of colours is available for the main panel, while all remaining parts and the shoulder strap can be combined freely from our full colour range – understated in a single tone, nautical in blue and white, or with a bold contrast.

Depth to suit you

If you need more room without moving up a size, we adjust the depth – for example from 10 to 15 cm. You select it directly in the configurator and see the price straight away.

Handmade in Germany

Every messenger bag is made in our sailmaking workshop in Kiel and crafted there by hand. We build it with one ambition: that it stays with you for many years – from the first cut to the final seam.
